New meeting and updates

Fri Oct 2, 2009, 6:28 AM
Hey guys, Isaiah here. I want to remind everyone of this week's meeting on Sunday, October 4 6:30 - 7:30 at the Barnes and Noble on Westheimer and South Voss. Turn out has been low lately, and I think that it may have had something to do with the meeting dates. Remember meeting are always on the first and third Sunday of the month, and I will remember to send these notices to keep people posted. August was a good month for us, but September was abismal. Let's keep things going strong.

I recently met with the organizer of another local Houston comickers group called First Storm Manga. They began in San Antonio, but have expanded to Houston. We discussed joining forces, so you expect to see some of their members occassionally making it to our meetings. If you are interested they meet every other week at Happy Teahouse on Westheimer and Dunvale. I'll get you udates on the exact date of the next meeting if you are interested. I can't express how excited I am to know that there is another comicker's releated group in Houston.

I want to stress the importance of member involvement. I want to turn this group into something that serves the comicking community, but I cannot do that without your help. Eventually I want to make the meeting more structerd with agendas and the what not, but that cannot happen without your input on what you want to get out of this community and some sort of active involvement. Please, come to meetings or joining on the forums at [link]

In other news, starting next week I will finally have a single fulltime job. The job will require a lot of overtime, but I should finally have the engery to put the kind of attention to this group, and my own comics that I want to. Expect a lot more involvement from me again, and I apoligize more my months as a ghost which are also responsible for this groups decline. But now things are for me, and want to devote my new energy to HCA! Have fun, guys, and I look forward to seeing you this week.

Guy 1: You know what I'm tired of?
Guy 2: What?
Guy1: Ninjas. They're not as cool as everyone makes them seem.
Guy 2: I agree.
